Volume booster and normalizer

Make a file louder or quieter by a set amount, or normalize it to a peak level or a loudness target so tracks match each other.

How to use it

  1. Choose a file or drop it on the box.
  2. Pick a mode: Gain adds or removes a set amount, Peak raises the loudest point to a level, Loudness matches an LUFS target.
  3. Compare and download. The level is lowered automatically if it would clip.

Questions

Gain, peak or loudness?

Gain is a plain volume change. Peak normalization makes the loudest sample reach a chosen level. Loudness normalization matches how loud the track sounds, which is best for making several tracks equal.

Why did my file not get as loud as I set?

If a boost would push peaks past the maximum, the tool lowers the result to avoid distortion. Use the Mastering tool to raise loudness with a limiter.
